Where the fun begins!



 Manchester City 5-0 Sunderland             ( 3rd of April)

Manchester City move to third place in the Premier League after playing against Sunderland this Sunday. Adam Johnson started City’s bunch of goals after exchanging passes with Yaya Toure and firing one in. Carlos Tevez scored a second with a penalty in the 15th minute. David Silva scored a third closely after, before substitute Patrick Vieira slotted one in before the end of the half. Yaya Toure finished off by then scoring a well deserved fifth goal on the 73rd minute.

Manchester Utd 2-1 Chelsea (3-1 AGG)                   (12th of April)
Manchester United sealed a place in the semi-finals of this year’s Champions league after beating Chelsea 2-1. Carlo Ancelotti chose to put the £50 million Spanish striker Fernando Torres on in the place of Didier Drogba.  The Spaniard has yet to score for Chelsea after he was taken off close to half time and was replaced by Drogba. Javier Hernandez opened with a goal soon before Torres came off, to double their score. Although Drogba scored with 13 minutes to go, it still wasn’t enough to gain victory, after Ramires was sent off with two yellow cards after a bad tackle on Nani. Just as things couldn’t get any worse, Park Ji-Sung slotted one in before the end of the match.

Cardiff City 2-0 Sheffield Utd                           (12th of April)
Cardiff City move to second in the Npower Championship after beating Sheffield United 2-0. Craig Bellamy scored a goal in the after curling a shot in from the left side of the box, then Jay Emmanuel-Thomas added a second to the scoreboard when he headed a cross from the right wing by Chris Burke into the back of the net.

Real Madrid 1-0 Tottenham (5-0 AGG)           (13th of April)
Tottenham were without Peter Crouch yesterday after two yellow cards in their last meeting. They lost miserably when they had to score 6 goals to win, but they didn’t manage to score 1. There wasn’t much to talk about until the first and last goal came from Cristiano Ronaldo. What would have been an easy save for Heurelho Gomes changed after he let the ball go, and it rolled into the back of the net. Tottenham had many chances, but didn’t manage to put one away. 



Britain’s Andy Murray wins his first match since January with a win over the Czech Republic’s Radek Stepanek. The 23 year old won with straight sets with

6-1 in the 1st set and

6-4 to win the second set.


Phillips to go
The Ospreys’ head director Scott Johnson has decided to let Welsh scrum-half Mike Phillips to move to France. The 28 year old was contracted to play for them until 2014, but the decision has been made. The head director said
“After continued requests from Mike over the last 18 months, we’ve agreed to let Mike go as soon as he can find another club.” Earlier this season, they have also let go Welsh fly-half James Hook to Perpignan, and full-back Lee Byrne to Clermont Auvergne. At the end of this season prop Craig Mitchell will move to Exeter.
